<작품 소개>
매화는 서리와 눈을 두려워하지 않고 언 땅 위에 고운 꽃을 피워낸다고 하여 과거서부터 현재까지 많은 사랑을 받아온 한국화의 주요한 화목(畵目)이다. 현실과 타협하지 않고 자신의 신념을 지키며 묵묵히 살아가는 보통 사람들의 모습을 눈 내리는 겨울철 매화나무로 은유하여 그려보았다.
 
Plum Blossoms are a major theme of Korean painting that has been loved from the past to the present because they are said to bloom beautiful flowers on frozen ground without fear of frost and snow. The image of ordinary people living silently while keeping their beliefs without compromising with reality is metaphorically depicted with plum trees in snowy winter.
